Sometimes the best form of self care is by doing completely random and pointless things to destress.

I love exploring and experimenting with new activites, so I created this post to share just a few of the different things I’ve been doing that have made me happier and less stressed while in social isolation.

In this case, some of the things I have done have been very random, while others are a bit more practical.

Being at home more has inspired me to do more things that I would’ve never guessed I would have done, just because they’ve never crossed my mind.

So here’s some random things I’ve done during quarentine.

~stepping stone craft~

This craft made me so nostalgic, and I can’t even remember if I had ever done it before!

On mother’s day, my grandma gifted me two of these crafts so me and a friend could each do one 6 feet apart.

I know- I’m not even a mother and I still received a gift- that just doesn’t make sense!

However, I was obviously very grateful for it and made concrete stepping stones with my friend only a day or two later.

We worked on them on my driveway and messed up so many times.

We added too much water and then too little, we kept splattering wet concrete everywhere and on ourselves, it was really just a complete mess.

Despite this we still had an amazing time making them and they actually turned out alright!

It was a great break from the stress of being in quarantine.

~new recipes~

Being indoors more has been forcing us to cook more for a number of reasons, but I have definitely enjoyed doing more of it.

I’m not a very good cook and I’m a clutz in the kitchen.

One time over the summer I accidentally cut myelf trying to cut an avocado, and I had to get stitches- so yeah, I’m a clutz.

Despite these struggles cutting an avocado, I still eat it on a daily basis and make many recipes with it.

Some of my favorite things I’ve made were a Greek Kale salad and edible cookie dough.

Both were absolutely delicious although incredibly simple and I’ll definitely be making them again in the future.

~painting~

One night I got together with the same friend that I did the concrete stepping stones craft with (we’re basically quarantining together) and we had such a fun evening that included painting.

Earlier we had gone to a nearby park to do some yoga, and then later we went back to her house and sat in her driveway and painted.

She had done some previous artwork before me and had a collection of paints and some recycled cardboard we could use to actually paint on.

We listened to music and it was very therapeutic and stress relieving.

What I came up with was not very good but I still had a great time making my incredibly below average artwork.
