Today we are getting spiritual. Okay, I kind of lied. We are not getting that spiritual, but I will be sharing with you my favorite crystals, why I use them, and the “magic” they have manifested in my life.

I personally believe that crystal magic works through intention. After going back to school in 11th grade, I had a lot of anxiety and doubts about what my experience would entail. Coming back from 12 months of isolation brought a lot of anxiety related to school to the surface. To combat these strong negative emotions I was feeling, I started bringing crystals to school.

In the morning, I would pick a stone with properties that I wanted to embody. For example, if I brought citrine to school, I would have the intention to be positive. If I ever felt anxious, I would hold the stone and remind myself that I should be positive and surround myself with happy people.

Doing this every school day helped my mental health improve dramatically and made some of those negative feelings towards school dissolve. Now that you know a little about my history with crystals, here are some of my favorites and their significance. Also, I referred to the Crystal Bible by Judy Hall for all of the stone properties.

Citrine

I mentioned this transparent yellow crystal above. Citrine was the first crystal that I ever brought to school with me. I remember that day being an amazing one. Citrine is an energizing stone that holds creative and positive energy. It also protects against negative energy. I love bringing this stone with me when I am socializing since presumably, it would ward away negative people and bring in the positive.

Amethyst

This stone is very nostalgic to me as it was one of the first crystals I ever purchased when I was young. It is also my mom’s birthstone. I remember holding this crystal for the first time and feeling an immense weight being lifted off of my shoulders and a strong calm taking its place. It comes as a rich purple or lavender color but will fade if you place it in the sun. This crystal blocks stress and is very healing, physically and mentally. I like to study with Amythest as I feel it has this very focused and mature energy associated with it.

Smokey Quartz and Black Tourmaline

The reason why I put these two dark stones in one category together is that they have similar properties and I use them together. Both smokey quartz and black tourmaline have extremely protective properties. I was suffering from nightmares earlier this year so I placed the two crystals next to my bed(I saw somewhere that these crystals ward away bad dreams). I have not had any bad dreams since placing these two next to my bed. The times I have not slept next to these crystals, I have had nightmares. It could be a coincidence but there is no harm in keeping them on my bedside table.

Clear Quartz

Clear Quartz will forever be one of my favorite crystals. My crystal is a gorgeous clear point that looks like ice. It is an extremely powerful energy amplifier and can help focus energy. I like to meditate with this stone, visualize, or keep it on my desk for some extra motivation. Once I had a stomach ache so I held clear quartz and I think it helped(The placebo effect? I guess we’ll never know…). This stone is gorgeous and based on my own experience, a very powerful crystal for many different things.

If you liked this post then you may want to look at some of my recent crystal purchases, which are not quite as recent now. Until Monday then!
